Windows Condensation

Since many home owners have wondered about this topic we decided to explain the problem below. We also provided a short video after the explanation.

Condensation is moisture forming on the inside of a window. It occurs when the surface temperature on the interior side of a window is lower than the dew point of the humid air around it.

Moisture in the air naturally condenses on contact with colder surfaces. The higher the moisture level of the air, known as the relative humidity, or the colder the surface, the heavier the condensation.

Energy Efficient Windows are less likely to have condensation, however if the relative humidity inside is more than 30% when the outside temperature is below 20° Celsius (-20° C) than condensation may form even on the surface of an energy efficient window.

Also because of potential condensation problems, Windows should not be installed near sources of humidity such as a shower or kitchen sink when possible.

We know that a large renovation can be daunting so we've provided this step-by-step guide to let you know exactly how your business with Ecoline Windows will proceed:

Step 1: Booking an Appointment
When you call into Ecoline Windows a friendly, knowledgeable representative will be able to handle your questions as well as find a convenient time for the salesperson to come to your home for a free appointment. Once the appointment is set you can relax without worry. We will have someone phone the day before your appointment in order to confirm that you are still interested in having the salesperson visit.

Step 2: The Appointment
During the appointment, a salesperson will take preliminary measurements of your current windows. He will then show you samples of our windows, as well as a catalogue of all of our different styles, designs, and options for your custom-made windows. Once you have decided on your favorite features the salesperson will then calculate the total cost of the project.

Step 3: Measurements
Once you have chosen the design for your windows, an installer will be sent to your home to take a final measurement to ensure the highest quality and a perfect fit for your new windows. These measurements will then be sent to our manufacturing facility.

Step 4: Manufacturing Process
At our manufacturer your windows are built according to your specifications. This process will take approximately 3-4 weeks from the manufacture of your windows to their arrival at our warehouse. You can rest assured that your windows are of the highest quality as our manufacturer offers a lifetime warranty for the original homeowner on the glass as well as the vinyl frame and sash. If 3-4 weeks seems like a long stretch, don't worry, a representative will keep you informed of the progress of your windows.

Step 5: Installation Process
Installation will happen approximately 1 week after your custom windows arrive in our warehouse. One of our helpful representatives will schedule an installation date that is convenient for you. Our installation staff is friendly, courteous, and clean. They will respect your home as you have chosen to respect the environment by choosing energy-saving windows that are not only contributing to a greener future, they also enhance and beautify the look of your home.
